LOS ANGELES: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on Wednesday gave $500,000 to firefighters and casualties of a gigantic Southern California rapidly spreading fire that verged on crushing the VIP couple's own multimillion-dollar chateau.

Kardashian, showing up on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," said she and West contracted private firefighters to ensure their home and others in their neighborhood in provincial Calabasas, north of Los Angeles.
